Regulated electricity prices 2015–16

On 28 April 2015, the Queensland Government announced that it will retain price regulation in south east Queensland for 2015-16, rather than introduce price monitoring.  As a result of this decision, we have received a new delegation, which can be downloaded below, to determine regulated prices to apply throughout the state.

Since this was a significant change in the scope of our review, we conducted further consultation before making a final decision.  We released a consultation paper, conducted an additional stakeholder workshop and accepted submissions from interested parties. To allow sufficient time for further consultation, we advised that we would release our final decision on 12 June 2015.

Unfortunately, it was necessary to delay the release of our final decision because we were awaiting the appointment of a third member to the board of the QCA.  We advised that we now expected to release our final decision by 19 June 2015.

On 10 December 2014, we released our draft determination.  Submissions in response to the draft determination closed on 27 February 2015.  All non-confidential submissions received can be downloaded below.

At the request of the Minister for Energy and Water Supply, we also provided advice on the estimated impact of removing Solar Bonus Scheme costs from electricity prices.

On 28 August 2014, the Minister for Energy and Water Supply provided us with a Delegation to set regulated retail electricity prices for regional Queensland from 1 July 2015 to 30 June 2016.

On 30 September, we commenced our review by releasing an Interim Consultation Paper.
